When Park Inc first offered Charlotte area resident John Weathers a job as a school crossing guard, he said no. According to Tamara Davis-Jack, crossing guard coordinator for Park Inc, the 80 year old retiree was more than happy checking off items on his honey-do list and working in his garden. After visiting Selwyn Elementary and Alexander Graham Middle School, John finally decided to give the new job as a crossing guard a shot and he has been helping students safely cross the street at the corner of Barclay Downs and Runnymeade for the past three years. John is doing more than working a job–he is making a difference in the lives of the students and giving back to the community. This is just one small example of how are employees are making a difference in their communities. Congratulations on a job well done John!
